Fastening Gypsum and Plywood to Steel 10% Faster
Date Posted: 7/31/2017
Fastening gypsum, fiberboard, and plywood to steel can be tricky and time consuming, yet it is still a widely demanded application. Luckily, there is a quick, easy, and efficient way to do this.
Many applicators have used screw systems to attach gypsum to steel. This process can be tiring and time consuming when the operator is pushing inward to help push the screw into the steel. Also, the drill often scores and cracks the plywood or gypsum as the screw finally breaches the steel. This is particularly true when operators are screwing individual screws one at a time with drills.
A much easier way to perform this work is with the Aerosmith VersaPin ST4200. This light, 4.8-pound pin applicator provides operators with an easy method to pin plywood, fiberboard, or gypsum to steel. Pneumatically driving these pins with the recommended pressure provides a smooth, quick, and simple means to fasten the material in place. This process is 10-15% faster than screws and requires less worker effort. Improvements like these reduce worker fatigue and increase throughput on jobs- which means more money!
